French Press Brewing Basics
- Coffee-to-water ratio: 1:15 — about 30g of coffee to 450ml of water.
- Grind size: Coarse, like breadcrumbs.
- Brew time: 4 minutes, then press the plunger down slowly and serve right away.
Tips for a Better Cup
- Grind just before brewing when you can.
- Use water just off the boil (about 195–205°F / 90–96°C).
- If your cup tastes sour or weak, try a finer grind; if it tastes bitter, go coarser.
